First Impressions

One month before, I came to LA from China where I have stayed for more than 20 years. Cold is the very first impression on LA, because I thought its temperature is much hotter than that of China, but actually it is not. Then I was surprised by the houses, in China, we usually live in an apartment which is in a tall building and you may have a lot of neighbors, but in LA, the houses are seperated from each other and most of them only have three floors at most. I really love the houses which have their own gardens with beautiful flowers and green trees in them. In addition, the houses are mostly made of wood, however, houses in China are always made of concrete. Besides, the air is fresh and the people are very friendly and warm-hearted here. Whenever I am in trouble , they give me a hand to deal with the problems, so I never feel nervous when I have some problems. Now since I have basically adapted to the life in LA, I really enjoy living and studying here, I like cooking and enjoying delicious food with my roommates, going to the beach, hanging out with friends, making new friends from all over the and knowing more different kinds of culture.

  1. i was also surprised by the houses when I moved to California. In Pennsylvania, the houses are spread apart more than in California. The yards are bigger and there is more of a variety of architecture.
